Description

This 1.2.4 release will include features in Metacat (performance, CN API fixes), d1_cn_buildout (PostgreSQL tuning), d1_cn_service (CN read-only mode), d1_synchronization (bug-fix #4182), and d1_mercury (UI fixes). This ticket is used to document the CCI 1.2.4 feature rollout.

Changes to the Metacat component include log aggregation performance fixes, which are coupled with PostgreSQL performance tuning in d1_cn_buildout (#4106). Likewise, incorrect authentication behavior is fixed when calling CN APIs (https://projects.ecoinformatics.org/ecoinfo/issues/6183) , and calls to MN.replicate() that encounter SSL errors and cause replica requests to remain in the 'requested' state are fixed (#4178).

finished branching d1_cn_service and merging d1_synchronization changes into D1_SYNCHRONIZATION_V1.2 branch. Updated d1_stage_control_properties to pick up the new D1_CN_SERVICE_v1.3 branch.

The 1.2.4 release is blocked by #4204, and once patched, we plan to do a 2.3.1 patch release for metacat to be included in the CCI 1.2.4 release of the CN stack.
