I am OK with Roger updating the DataONE software directly with an account. However
I have my development environment running the software in a VM hosted on my desktop
and I am not sure how to provide access to that machine. I'll work on it.

Will there be update installation instructions for the new release?

8/30 & 9/4 - Roger emailed Joe with public key authentication information

9/13: Roger can access prod and see that ssh is open to test and dev.

generated a key pair on prod. Need Joe to copy the pub key at home/dahl/id_rsa.pub to authorized_keys on test and dev
prod is on Ubuntu 16.04, which works nicely with the D1 stack. It has an EOL of April 2021.
Question Joe: Do you want to go with that, or get another couple of years before having to think about upgrades by upgrading it to 18.04 before I get started?
