DataONE relies on the ObjectFormat for fully specify the type of an object. This information is generally, but not always sufficient to fully specify the type of an object.
This task is to add an optional mediaType element to the system metadata for an object.
When specified, the value should provide more detail than is available in the ObjectFormat. When not specified, the value in the ObjectFormat should be used.
