Description

Currently, DataONE infrastructure relies on the Object Format structure to indicate the type of an object. This information is deficient in that it may not fully specify the IANA Media Type or the IANA charset information for an object. In some cases (such as a CSV file that is not US-ASCII charset) is essential for properly interpreting the file contents.
