We need to monitor hardware and virtual machines at each CN location, ideally from a common location running on independent hardware.
This task is to design a nagios deployment that can support:
- monitoring of host hardware, including switches and disk arrays (if possible) at each location
- monitoring of VMs deployed at each location
- identification of which resources should be monitored
- where to host the nagios monitor
- tolerances for sending alerts for different items being monitored
