There should be a common API utilized by the major software components of the infrastructure for DataNet?" class="external">[DataONE] for authentication and authorization operations.
Rationale
A common API will help minimize inconsistencies that arise from functional and semantic mis-match when interacting across multiple systems.
Fit Criteria
- CN, MN, and ITK libraries share a common API for authn and authz
- Differing component implementations pass integration testing
