Related to story #812: This plugin seems to have the "traffic light" status indicator we are looking for. Need to evaluate the product, as it hasn't been updated in a couple years.

the monitor plug-in requires a major upgrade to Cacti - need to install the plug-in architecture, and 2 dependencies (also plugins). Went through the steps to install, but ran into unexplained problems. Would probably need to update Cacti to v0.87g, which is not yet available via apt-get install.
Advise postponing until after the Sept demo at least.
