Description
Specify the hardware that will be used to operate the CNs. This equipment should support virtual machines, and ideally should support at least two instances of the CN software stack (deployed and testing / development). Hardware should have high availability properties (redundancy). Specifications should include network, power supply (e.g. UPS) and any other components required for deployment of the CN servers

We could get about the same with faster quad-core Nehalem CPUs, but would be limited to a two socket system. The Nehalem-EX 8-core Xeons will use a different socket, so we wouldn't be able to upgrade.
