Description
Currently, each module handles its own exceptions, does logging and creates file error messages. It would make the code cleaner and easier to work with if exceptions were minimally processed and allowed to flow up to the root resolver, where they would all be handled in the same way.

Implement this by adding an Exception parameter to PathExcepton that allows passing exception information up to the root if the PathException was generated in response to an exception.
