ssh_exchange_identification: Connection closed by remote host
ssh connectivity is being used by nagios for monitoring, if the attempt to connect fails then no other checks are run.

I believe the issue is fixed. The denyhosts daemon is running on behalf of sshd. If you enter your password incorrectly too many times, denyhosts will add the the host to the hosts.deny file for ssh. I've cleared the deny file out and reset the denyhosts daemon. Try it now.
