Not necessary since obsoleted content is not indexed.
There may be some circumstances where the obsoleted / obsoletedBy chain is broken - but that is really an issue for the Member Node or the client that made the adjustment. It may be worthwhile having review of the obsolescence chain as part of the functionality that should be included in a system wide content auditing process.
