<p>1) Remove the 'only results with data' checkbox on the simple search view</p>
<p>2) by default, expose this as a refinement on the Advanced view such that it can be removed if desired.</p>
Task #3360 (Rejected): Provide Member Node documentation on node naming best practiceshttps://redmine.dataone.org/issues/33602012-10-23T19:40:04ZChris Jonescjones@nceas.ucsb.edu
<p>Nodes shouldn't use acronyms or 'MN' in there names. be sure the documentation guidance says so.</p>
Task #3359 (Rejected): Address confusing navigation buttons in science metadata viewshttps://redmine.dataone.org/issues/33592012-10-23T19:31:56ZChris Jonescjones@nceas.ucsb.edu
<p>When viewing an individual science metadata document, there is a 'Return to Search' button and a 'Back' button. The latter returns to the shorter metadata view. The navigation is confusing.</p>
Task #3358 (Rejected): Add a printable view of science metadatahttps://redmine.dataone.org/issues/33582012-10-23T19:26:47ZChris Jonescjones@nceas.ucsb.edu
<p>Users requested the ability to choose a 'Print' button and get a pritable view optimized for a sheet of paper or standard PDF. Design the button into the UI and an XSLT optimized for printing.</p>
Task #3356 (Rejected): Number the search results for ease of recallhttps://redmine.dataone.org/issues/33562012-10-22T19:51:38ZChris Jonescjones@nceas.ucsb.edu
<p>Some people had trouble keeping track of which science metadata window being viewed corresponds with the record in the search results list. Potentially number the records, but this needs clarification with Mike, Mary Beth, etc.</p>
Task #3355 (Closed): Fix the search form to not need two search buttonshttps://redmine.dataone.org/issues/33552012-10-22T19:14:23ZChris Jonescjones@nceas.ucsb.edu
<p>Two search buttons were requested to reduce scrolling, but work on the design to limit the need for two buttons. Subsequent feedback indicated there was confusion about it.</p>
Task #3354 (Rejected): Redesign query text on the results page to use refinement boxeshttps://redmine.dataone.org/issues/33542012-10-22T19:11:14ZChris Jonescjones@nceas.ucsb.eduTask #3347 (Rejected): Improve temporal components of the advanced searchhttps://redmine.dataone.org/issues/33472012-10-18T20:04:33ZChris Jonescjones@nceas.ucsb.edu
<p>Users had trouble with entering dates.<br>
Date entry: the fields allows invalid dates to be entered. Rather than displaying an error, it simply gives zero results</p>
<p>Validate entered Dates using a javascript edit mask where only certain characters are allowed as input. </p>
Task #3346 (Rejected): Improve geographic components of the advanced searchhttps://redmine.dataone.org/issues/33462012-10-18T19:46:54ZChris Jonescjones@nceas.ucsb.edu
<p>The openlayers version of the map has been confusing to users.<br><br>
Replace it with a more simplified map interface using the Google Maps API. See <a href="https://cn-dev-unm-1.test.dataone.org/d1Search/search.html">https://cn-dev-unm-1.test.dataone.org/d1Search/search.html</a>.</p>
<p>Replace the fixed-place name search to use the Google Maps API place name search. See <a href="http://rjshade.com/projects/gmaps-autocomplete/">http://rjshade.com/projects/gmaps-autocomplete/</a>. </p>
<p>Re-design the 'refinement' display to look like refinements on the results page. </p>
<p>Allow the user to move the bounding box if possible via the Google Maps API.</p>

<p>Each refinement should be displayed in the 'Query' area as removable links/boxes.</p>
Task #3344 (Rejected): Implement Simple vs Advanced search viewshttps://redmine.dataone.org/issues/33442012-10-18T17:56:39ZChris Jonescjones@nceas.ucsb.edu
<p>The current Mercury screen has a simple search stacked above the advanced search components. Change this such that the simple search is the only search by default. Have a toggle link/button to switch between simple and advanced views. subtasks will address the layout of each view.</p>
Task #3327 (Rejected): Clarify the 'Return to Search' vs 'Back' buttons when viewing science meta...https://redmine.dataone.org/issues/33272012-10-10T15:51:00ZChris Jonescjones@nceas.ucsb.edu
<p>The two buttons are confusing side-by-side, and there should be a single button to return to the previous state. Look at the etherpad notes to determine what the resolution was in the AHM subgroup discussion. </p>

Task #3326 (Rejected): Create a printable view of the science metadata recordhttps://redmine.dataone.org/issues/33262012-10-10T15:38:56ZChris Jonescjones@nceas.ucsb.edu
<p>Many users wanted to be able to print the metadata record, or view it in a window that promotes a printable view. Enable this functionality with a 'Print' button. the suggestion was to add it next to the 'Email' button.</p>
