Redmine Member Nodes - MNDeployment #7052 (New): BaMBa - Brazilian Marine Biodiversity Databasehttps://redmine.dataone.org/issues/70522015-04-17T19:58:11ZLaura Moyerslmoyers1@utk.edu

Luiz Gadelha forwarded a MNDD to support@dataone.org. We need to set up a getting-to-know-you meeting with interested parties.

Area of possible interest to DataONE. Per B. Michener, Cindy Parr is now there and could be a contact to see if this is worth exploring.

Member Nodes - MNDeployment #6853 (New): OBIS (Ocean Biogeographic Information System)https://redmine.dataone.org/issues/68532015-02-13T17:49:50ZLaura Moyerslmoyers1@utk.edu

http://www.iobis.org/

OBIS is interested in working with DataONE at some point in the future. It has some similarity to GBIF in that it aggregates data from many different ocean biodiversity nodes (some are regional or country based and others are theme-based). If we add GBIF, we presumably also get the OBIS data.

After we add GBIF, we can revisit OBIS and see where they are irt participation with DataONE (there is an OBIS-USA component which might be a good place to start).

Bill Michener is our POC as he has quarterly calls with the OBIS advisory group.

At a GBIF-sponsored workshop/meeting in Petropolis, I did a few seminars on Metacat and Morpho. There's potential interest in a MN if/when they set up a Metacat repository for their ecological data research as part of the larger biodiversity/LTER-style network they are building.
Primary contact: Luiz Gadelha lgadelha@lncc.br
Debora Drucker (who we know from PPBIO/PELD) is also aware of this initiative and supports the idea of a centralized repository hosted at LNCC (national scientific computing lab).

on 20130125 LT call, Dave V. mentioned a conversation with Randy Butler about the Prarie Research Institute.

The following is a snippet form ePad http://epad.dataone.org/2013Jan25-LT-VTC

Discussion with Randy Butler also touched on interest by the various Illinois Surveys (Prarie Research Institute) (e.g. Natural History Survey, Geological Survey, Hydrological Survey) on how they can participate in DataONE, perhaps as a set of Member Nodes. NH Survey likely to be the first candidate according to Randy ("endangered data").

Member Nodes - MNDeployment #3236 (New): UCNRS member nodehttps://redmine.dataone.org/issues/32362012-09-07T01:23:35ZDave Vieglaisdave.vieglais@gmail.com

The University of California Natural reserve System has been identified as a potential member node. This issue track progress towards that goal.

Member Nodes - MNDeployment #3211 (New): Taiwan Ecological Research Network member nodehttps://redmine.dataone.org/issues/32112012-09-05T03:19:03ZDave Vieglaisdave.vieglais@gmail.com

This issue is to track the deployment of the Taiwan Ecological Network member node. There is an active deployment of Metacat there.

Need to determine the relationship between this TERN node and the TFRI node in Taiwan to determine if they are different or the same, and the schedule for deployment.
